Sometimes life changes and we could use some support

Has your relationship ended?

Have you been laid off?

Had a health crisis?

Or are you just experiencing a general sense of unease or dissatisfaction with your life?

Are you trying to figure out what’s next?

I offer a private, one-to-one space to think things through and talk honestly about where you are and where life might be leading next.

Most of the people I work with are thoughtful and self-aware. They’re not starting from scratch. Many are in midlife. Some are earlier or later.

What they tend to share is a seriousness about looking at themselves honestly and a willingness to question the direction their life has taken so far.

They are at a point where something in them is ready to look more closely, question more deeply, and live life more honestly.

About Richard

My interest in this work is personal as much as professional. My mother’s life was cut short in midlife, and losing her shaped how I think about time, change, and the quiet urgency many people feel to live more truthfully while they can. It made me pay attention to the moments when life turns, and to how easily years can pass without stopping to ask whether we’re living in a way that feels real.

I grew up in the UK and now live in California.

Like many people, I’ve moved through my own periods of change in work, in relationships, and in how I understood myself.

Alongside lived experience, I’ve trained in coaching and therapeutic approaches that focus on reflection, emotional honesty, and life transitions. Over time, I became drawn to the in-between spaces, when old roles no longer quite fit, and the next chapter isn’t fully clear yet.

That in-between space can feel uncertain, but it can also be a meaningful turning point.

The work I offer is simple and private. It’s not a programme and there’s no fixed agenda. It’s a place to slow down, talk things through, and look carefully at what’s happening in your life, your relationships, and your sense of direction.

The people I work with typically aren't looking for advice so much as a steady space where they can be honest, make sense of things, and begin to see what the next stage of life might be asking of them.

I work one-to-one, online, with a small number of people at any time.

My articles explore many of the questions that tend to arise at turning points in life; identity, relationships, direction, and the quieter process of trying to live more honestly with yourself.

They’re where I think things through in public, and where many people first recognise something of their own experience. You’re welcome to begin anywhere and see what resonates.

Testimonials

" I’ve been working with Richard for over 4 years, and his presence has been one of the most grounding and transformative supports in my personal journey. Through multiple sessions over the years, he has remained consistently attuned, compassionate, and deeply insightful.

What sets Richard apart is his ability to hold space in a way that feels profoundly safe and non-judgmental. I’ve always felt seen, heard, and completely free to open up, whether it’s navigating relationships, exploring my life purpose, or moving through the everyday complexities of life.

His questions are thoughtful and powerful; they don’t just offer clarity, they lead me back to my own truth. There’s also something beautifully intuitive about the way Richard works; he often senses what I haven’t yet put into words but have been quietly holding inside. That level of deep understanding is rare, and I’m so grateful for it.

Another thing I deeply value is his capacity to stay fully present, whether in a shorter session or a much longer one. Richard has coached me through sessions lasting up to four hours — and his focus, attunement, and care never waver. That kind of stamina and dedication speaks volumes about his integrity and commitment to this work.

I highly recommend Richard to anyone on a path of growth, healing, or self-discovery. Richard is especially insightful when it comes to romantic relationships; whether you’re seeking one or navigating the dynamics of an existing partnership. I fully intend to continue working with him as life unfolds; because having a coach like him in my corner truly makes all the difference. "

" I've been working with Richard for 2 years, and it's been a truly positive experience.

He always creates a safe, welcoming space where I feel comfortable opening up. Richard has a special ability to meet me exactly where I am, even during quiet moments—those silences often feel healing. He isn’t just a great coach and mentor; he helps me connect with my own inner wisdom and true self. Our sessions don’t feel like someone telling me what to do; they feel like a journey inward, where I’m learning to trust myself more. "

If you feel you might be at a point where something is shifting, and you’d like a space to talk things through, you’re welcome to get in touch.

You don’t need to write anything formal. A few lines about where you are in life and what’s on your mind is more than enough.

I’ll reply personally, and we can take it from there.
